Why build-to-rent delivers more than just housing
Despite being one of the fastest growing sectors in UK real estate, build-to-rent (BTR) is still in its infancy. And as a result, its potential to deliver social value isn’t yet fully appreciated – especially when compounded with the fact that the definition and measurement of social value itself also remains a grey area.
However, the benefits of BTR schemes to both residents and the wider communities are considerable. BTR is far from being “gentrification”; instead, its impact can be immensely positive for everyone, not least in the regeneration of urban locations and the delivery of affordable housing and community amenities.
